"Should I do private or group lessons?" Why not both?
Private Lessons
This is the best way to begin learning the Pilates method. Students get one-on-one attention while learning the fundamentals of the work and how they relate to the needs of their individual body. The nuts and bolts of the choreography, along with equipment use and safety are explained, while any necessary modifications are planned.
Students who have current injuries or are in pain must begin with a minimum of one private lesson in order to determine what course of action best serves their needs. This applies to all new clients, regardless of past Pilates experience.
Duet Sessions
These sessions are best for clients who are at similar skill levels and share common goals. Duets give participants a chance to receive in-person attention in a small and intimate environment. The work may consist of Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Tower. If you’re interested please contact me with the days and times that you would be available, and I’ll do my best to find another person who would be a good match. Additionally, if you have partners in mind that you would like to work with in this way, please reach out.
Group Classes
The group work is where students take the knowledge gained in their private lessons, and put it into practice. While being guided in a small, supportive and fun class, each person gets to make the work their own by applying the lessons learned during their private sessions. In this way, the Pilates Method becomes a powerful tool for people to take ownership of their health and well-being, while gaining the confidence to apply the Pilates concepts in their real world, daily life.
Once students have had the opportunity to learn the basics of the Mat and Reformer work in a private setting, they can start taking group classes at the appropriate level.

Description text goes hereThis is the Alpha and Omega of the Pilates Method. The fundamentals begin here with the introduction of the basic concepts of improved breath, stability and core control, without the added complexity of the equipment. Yet, mat is also where the most advanced work lies. Without the support of the equipment, this is where a person gains incredible strength, mobility, mental focus, and a mastery of the skills needed to maintain great health. SOOO… whether you want to feel like a super-hero who can balance on one arm and defy gravity, or you just want to be able to stand on one leg and put on a sock without making that sound, mat is the place to be!

Description text goes herePilates equipment is one of the things that makes this method truly unique. The Reformer, Low Chair, and Tower use springs rather than weights, providing a challenge for muscles and joints that applies in multiple directions, helping to build strong, flexible bodies. The equipment also serves as support by holding limbs in the air, providing points of contact to reach into, and by aiding in the return from end range. With this much support, Pilates apparatus is the Patrick Swayze to your Jennifer Grey.
